Terms of use

1. Description of the service

The service enables you to, among other things: register and manage bike information when signed in, check a frame number without signing in, view a public list of stolen bikes, report theft and relay sightings to the owner, and transfer ownership as defined in the application.

2. Account and authentication

• You provide accurate information at sign-up and keep your credentials confidential.
• You are responsible for activity on your account until you report unauthorised use to administration and/or close the account.
• You can delete your account and personal data through the service’s GDPR tools; see the privacy policy.

3. Bike data and accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of the bike information you enter. The service is not an official vehicle register maintained by authorities or an official ownership register.

We do not independently verify ownership, purchase receipts or attachments, nor do we guarantee that other users provide correct information. The service relies on user-submitted data.

4. Public information, sightings and messages

Public views (for example frame number check and stolen listings) may show only limited bike data. Personal contact details are not published in those views, as described in the privacy policy.

Content submitted through sighting forms is processed according to the service’s technical rules; automated filtering and third-party bot protection may be used to reduce spam and abuse.

5. Ownership transfers

Ownership transfer takes place according to the process defined in the service (invitation and recipient confirmation). We are not a party to purchase or gift relationships between users and do not guarantee that a transfer is lawful or resolve intermediary disputes. You are responsible for the transaction and ownership yourself.

6. Permitted and prohibited use

• You must not use the service unlawfully or in a way that infringes others’ rights.
• You must not knowingly submit false information, disrupt the service, bypass technical safeguards, or collect data using automation without written permission.
• You must not upload content that infringes intellectual property rights or is unlawful.

7. Your photos and content

You retain rights to photos and descriptions you upload. You grant the service a limited licence to display, store and process them to deliver the service (for example identifying the bike and theft marking).

8. Intellectual property in the service

The service software, appearance and branding are protected. You may use the service under these terms for personal use.

9. Changes and interruptions

We aim to keep the service available. We may suspend or change the service or individual features (for example technical updates, security or legal requirements).

We may close an account if you breach these terms or the law, or if justified for security or protection of other users.

10. Limitation of liability

The service is provided as is. We are not liable for indirect damage or consequential loss to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer protection or liability for personal injury where required by Finnish law.

11. Personal data

Processing of personal data is described in a separate privacy policy.

12. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland (excluding conflict-of-law rules). Disputes should first be resolved by contacting administration. Consumers may have the right to refer a matter to the Consumer Disputes Board or a district court.

13. Changes to the terms

We may update the terms. Material changes will be communicated in the service (for example an updated date on this page). Continued use after changes may constitute acceptance of the updated terms.
